Titus 2:11-13

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus."

So We Don't Forget: Alone Time

I'm doing my first "So We Don't Forget" post today! This week we are blogging about our favorite alone time activity. To join in, click on the button below!

Alone time... isn't it wonderful?! Okay, maybe not for everyone; but it is for me. I need my friends, and I need adult conversation, but I also need my alone time. As a stay-at-home mother of four children three years old and under, I don't get a whole lot of time for any of these things (i.e. hanging out with friends, engaging in adult conversation, spending time alone), so what time I do get usually comes when the kids are sleeping.

So what is my favorite thing to do while the kids are sleeping (besides eating a bowl of ice cream ;-))? Blogging! I love to write, and blogging gives me the perfect place to do so. (I actually blogged about my love of writing--and blogging--here about a year ago!) I remember when my husband told me he had started a blog. I said something along the lines of, "What's a blog? I want one...." And now that I have one, it's like my outlet to the adult world. Through blogging I am able not only to satisfy my desire to write but also to share encouragement with others. Often times I even feel as if the Lord teaches me through my own writing--probably because writing forces me to take the time to think through things. This is probably why, for me, blogging has to be an alone time activity. I tend to become so deep in thought while I'm writing that I'm nearly impossible to talk to--just ask my husband! :-) While I do have some alone time every day, I obviously can't always devote it to blogging. But I can usually find a way to at least fit a bowl of ice cream in! :-)

Ha! I bet alone time is hard to find at your house. I blog for the same reasons as you.

Oh, you were asking about my template. Lynnette's daughter, Abigail, did my design for me. She has a blog design business now. She's awesome!! I won it through a giveaway and I love it!

Angela,
I know Excatly how you feel! As a mother now of 2 kids under the age of 2 my only way out of this world feels to get on the internet and simply engage converstaions with adults because i too miss that! Instead of my blogging, i used to do that on myspace.com all the time but now i dont because people judge me or judge what i say or people turn my words around and make me to be a bad person, which im not. So i get on facebook and update pictures, talk to people, read peoples stuff, and play some games on facebook. When the kids sleep thats my way of " getting away" and other than that when my fiance gets home i go into the bedroom for awhile and simply have MY TIME to either get on internet or just relax. Some people think being a stay home mother is EASY and being lazy. PEople dont realize that its truly a 24 hr job. Then I feel guilty when i take time to myself because chris goes to work and wants to come home to relax too but i need my time too. I hate how i can't sleep at night. I didn't goto sleep until 6am ish today, i just lay in bed all night tossing and turning and i try to free my head but just doesn't work.
I think its great with you guys blogging!! I feel when i read about your blogs you make me want to be a better mother, and a better believer of god.

Thank you!

Angela,
I am so happy to be reading my blogging friends posts again. Life takes crazy turns, and my blogging took a back burner for a while.
Your post today was great to read. Free time is certainly a commodity, and you truly have your time filled with raising many blessings.
Your posts have been so exciting to read.
Your paths of training your children cause me to remember the first 4 children we had, and now on # 9 we are repeating all of the same principles again. Praying for His Guidance all over again as well.
You are doing a great job!
It sounds as if you have your eyes set on the GOAL, and He will honor this.

Angela! HI! I've missed you - but certainly understand you had to settle into being a momma to TWO more little ones. :)

Blogging is interesting isn't it? I didn't use to understand what blogging was exactly - and here I am blogging my heart out!

Thanks for joining in to my new So We Don't Forget.

Your Chum,
Lynnette
