Titus 2:11-13

"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus."

Why?...

Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by God's good favor towards me.  When I step into a hot shower, when I peer out the windows of my warm house, when I pull up to the pump to fill my tank, when I wash the dishes, when I scrub my kitchen floor, when I sit next to my husband, when I look at our children... these are the times that I recognize the favor of the Lord in my life.  And I wonder, "Why?..."

I have done nothing to deserve anything good, and yet God has lavished an abundance of good gifts upon me.  Why?...

And, not only has He given me comforts and provisions for this life, but He has also given me comfort and provision for the life to come.  For, while I was yet a sinner, Christ died for me (Romans 5:8), paying the price for my sin that I, believing, might live (John 3:16).  Talk about undeserved favor!

I'm not going to pretend that I understand it.   I don't.  I don't understand why God has given me everything that I don't deserve (life and blessing) while at the same time withholding from me that which I do deserve (death and punishment).

All I know is that the mystery of God's grace drives me to praise.  "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come" (Revelation 4:8b).

I agree! I often times wonder, 'why me?' I have unsaved brothers and a sister and wonder, 'why me?' Why not them too? I did nothing special, am nothing special. I too fall on my knees and praise Him. We love this song, we will worshiping to it during our morning devotions. Thanks for sharing.

How I too, marvel at this holy and amazing gift of salvation, for HE SAVED a WRETCH like me! So undeserved still yet forever constant is He and His love, He freely gives His tender mercies and kindnesses .... His help, His favors, and His blessings and love. I use to think I was His favorite until I read His word and found there were many more that He'd grafted me in with his saints into the body of Christ. We ask why? Why did He choose me? There is nothing we had done to deserve His love but receive ... We received His gift of salvation and the forgiveness us sin and we can only love Him because He first loved us!  This is love eternal that keeps giving and giving. I pray, that in all of this bounty & blessing, that I will remain faithful. when I read the book of Job, I have to ask myself ... if all were taken from me ... How would I respond ? Will I PRAISE Him still .... But, because of His grace and love I acknowledge, He will never leave us nor forsake us, no matter whatever the trial, for His promises are yeah and Amen.
